Abdullah Bin Umar Ibn al-Khattab (r) said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) saying: (Islam is built on five duties; testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; performing the prayers (Solat); paying the Zakah; making the pilgrimage to the House (Hajj); and fasting (Sawm) in Ramadhan). (Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).
