'Umar Ibn al-Khattab (r) said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) saying: (Actions are determined by intention, and every man shall have that which he intended. So, he whose migration was for Allah and His Messenger, his migration was for Allah and His Messenger, and he whose migration was for some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that which he migrated for). (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).
