Buraidah reported that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) has said: (The pledge (promise*) between us and the people (Kuffar) is prayer. One who abandons it**, does an act of disbelief). (Narrated by Tirmizi and Nasai).
* Pledge: the deference between us and the none Muslims.
** One who abandons it: leave it with intention that prayer is not important.
